This week we are loving this Moana Movie Inspired Cake!

The day we were contacted by the parents of little Declan, they wanted us to come up with a cake that reflected the male character Maui in the movie. BUT they didn’t want just a Maui cake, they wanted a cake that reflected the movie as a whole.

We immediately hit our local toy store for inspiration, we found Maui and Moana toys, books, and even lego sets! All fueling our imagination. We decided to give Declan a toy topper so he would remember his 5th birthday. This boat was the perfect size. We found inspiration in Maui’s leaf skirt and made it a whole cake tier!

The day of delivery we were more than excited to see Declan and his parents faces light up as we opened the box to show them the cake that hid inside. Needless to say, they were delighted!

BUT, i think WE were more delighted to see all the amazing decorations and all the hard work that had gone into making Declan’s 5th birthday party an island hit! From the balloons, to the jumper it defiantly brought out my kid self and almost asked my delivery parter if i could stay at the party. Because “it calls me!” …get it???
